Meet Phoebe S
Bunnings Frontend Worker, SA
Tell us about your job? Well I work front end at Bunnings, which includes registers and greeter and car park attendant. I love it so much even though it comes with its challenges, it feels really good to be doing something different. But I did start out in merch, which is gathering the incoming stock and putting it away, which I also really enjoyed because I was learning where things would go and which isle. Which is needed when you haven’t worked there before because it is a huge warehouse.
What’s your favourite part about your job? My favourite part would probably still be learning everything there is to know as there is just so much I want to learn and I need to learn. Just super excited to see where I go and what happens. Tell us about the story behind the photo you submitted? Well I had basically just started and was going through my first week of full on front end shifts and was loving life. It was also taken in the bathroom on my lunch break! How has the COVID-19 pandemic impacted your job? I would say it’s had a big impact on my life. I actually had to leave one job because of the knock-on effects of COVID-19 and started a whole new career during this pandemic. Thankfully, I can say it was the best thing I ever did. What’s been your hack for staying positive during such a challenging? Remembering everyone is in the same boat and going through this time together and letting myself feel down if I’m having a bad day because I’m still allowed to have them. But also making the most of the happy days and trying to think of life out of these times and how good it will be and to never take any of the small things for granted because I am still very fortunate with the life I live compared to others. |
